What Philip Bowen Is Listening To
Music is always moving through the house, the car, the tour van, or my headphones. This playlist is a mix of songs I’ve been listening to lately — new artists, old favorites, and the kind of writing, production, and feeling that keeps inspiring me as a songwriter and fiddle player.
You’ll hear a lot of Americana, folk, roots music, and acoustic songwriting here, with the occasional curveball mixed in for good measure.

This list changes as my listening changes, so check back every so often.
On Repeat Right Now
A few songs in the playlist that have really been sticking with me lately:
“Blue Water” — The Milk Carton Kids
I always love the restraint in their writing and arrangements. There’s so much emotion in the simplicity.
“Separate Ways” — Telander
This one has been living in my head lately. I’m a sucker for songs that feel honest without trying too hard.
“Lots of Beginnings” — Nathan Evans Fox
Really strong writing and perspective. The kind of song that makes me want to go pick up an instrument.
I may keep adding a few notes like this as the playlist changes.
If You Like This Kind of Music
If this kind of writing and sound speaks to you, you might also enjoy some of my own songs, records, and collaborations.
